I finished reading Some Girls, Some Hats and Hitler: A True Love Story Rediscovered. (The Wall Street Journal is such a great place to get ideas for interesting books.) I really debated about whether I wanted to read another Holocaust-related book, but I’m glad I read this memoir. Trudi Kanter owned a millinery store in Vienna and tells of the impact of the Anschluss and what she did to get herself, husband and parents out of Austria to England.

A very savvy, courageous businesswoman. The book was originally published in the early 1980s and quickly went out of print. The current publishers couldn’t find anyone living today who owned the copyright.
