Meeting New Organization Members

I recently attended a new member luncheon for the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) – Los Angeles Chapter.  Although I have been a member of the organization for several months now, I still consider myself a new member, seeing that the majority of the members have been involved for many years.  I thought it was a great idea for the chapter to put on this event, aside from the regular monthly lunch programs for members.  It provided new members a chance to get acquainted with other new members, meet the board of directors, find out how they can get involved on a committee and get a better sense of how the chapter operates.  It can be overwhelming when you join a new organization, so I was pleased that LMA took the time to bring its new members up to speed.

How well do you know the organization that you are a member of?
